About
Jade Lockard is the past Founding Program Director for the HBCU Founders Initiative powered by Nex Cubed. At Nex Cubed, she also served as an Impact Investor and the Founding Program Manager for the firms inaugural accelerator fund; The HBCU Founders Fund.A proud native of Atlanta, Georgia, she embarked on her collegiate education at Spelman College; the birthplace of Black Girl Magic. It was here, where she developed a passion for entrepreneurship after entering a Spelman-sponsored 10-day startup competition. Her team won, propelling them into the startup and tech world, and the Atlanta entrepreneurship ecosystem. Before disassembling, the startup, "InHous" made history as the inaugural non-Georgia Tech team to gain acceptance into the Georgia Tech Create-X Incubator.After participating in a Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) hackathon, Jade became exposed to the deficit of entrepreneurship programming at HBCU's nationwide. She became an advocate, supporting HBCU entrepreneurial learning initiatives at her alma mater and other HBCU's nationwide.Jade currently serves as a board member for Sparkbridge, and The Jon Onye Lockard Foundation. She is also an advisory committee member with Black Women in Venture Capital. She has also served as a speaker, panelist, moderator, and pitch competition judge at various conferences, and events. Her hobbies include traveling, baking, and mentoring students and startups.
